A rather substantial grouping of producing countries and some of our perennial favorites. Represented here are Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, DR Congo, Burundi, Uganda. All produce mostly washed process coffee but the naturals can be on par with the best Ethiopians.
We include Yemen in this category for its proximity to the East African coast and the Red Sea shipping route. It is arguably the real historical centerpiece of the coffee "industry", with substantial production going back hundreds of years. Owing to the arid, mountainous region where it grows, Yemeni coffees are all dry process....and the most difficult
to get reliably.
